About the studio
Folder Office designs the things people read inside public buildings: signs, maps, forms, guides, and the identities that hold them together. We work with libraries, museums, councils, and the architects who build for them.
How a project runs
- Audit We walk the building with the people who run it and photograph every sign, notice, and leaflet. Most briefs change after this week.
- Structure A plain document of names, routes, and message types, agreed before anything is drawn.
- Drafts at full size Printed on paper and taped up in place. People are asked to find things using them.
- Production Artwork, specifications, and fabrication drawings, checked on site with the maker.
- Handover Editable templates and a short manual so staff can make new signs without calling us.
