White jug with two gold bands

A white jug with a wide pouring lip and an angular handle. Two thin gold lines run around it: one just below the rim, one around the middle of the body.

The glaze is crazed all over with fine cracks, easiest to follow across the front of the body. A few small dark specks sit in the glaze between the two bands.

The body narrows to a short, rounded foot. The jug stands on a chipped and speckled red tabletop, and the red makes the white read cooler than it would on a pale ground.

Red enamel coffee pot and two cups

A tall red coffee pot with a long, thin spout and a domed lid on a small hinge, set beside two matching cups. Pot and cups share a black edge at every rim.

The enamel on the pot is smooth and even in this view. The cups show small dark marks at their rims.

They stand on a plain wooden shelf hung on rope, against a pale wall, so the red carries the whole plate. The three pieces are studied as one set.

Two carved wooden vessels

Pale green teapot

The glaze is glossy enough to carry bright reflections down the front of the body. Faint dark specks show in the green around the lid.

Like the white jug, it stands on a red tabletop against a plain pale wall, and the two plates can be read as a pair.

Blue-and-white bottle with a metal lid

Shears, ruler and paper patterns

A pair of large shears lies open across a white display, blades pointing up and to the left. The blades are dark and mottled, and the handles have lost much of their bright finish.

The two handle loops differ: one is round, the other long and curved. A round screw holds the blades together at the pivot.

A wooden ruler runs along the bottom edge and cut paper patterns sit at the corners. One pattern is printed “TALLA 52” and “MANGA RANGLAN”; those words belong to the pattern and say nothing about the size of the shears. Small clear pins hold each piece to the board.
